SPRING VALLEY, WI - Getting the chance to catch passes from a former NFL quarterback is not an opportunity many high school or elementary school kids get a chance to do.

Former NFL Quarterback Sage Rosenfels will be on site in Spring Valley on Saturday, July 16, to host a “Football Fun” day camp for kids ages 8-18 years old.

Rosenfels played 11 years in the NFL, breaking into the league as a fourth-round draft choice of the Washington Redskins out of Iowa State University. He played for the Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings over the course of 11 NFL seasons. He finished his career with a 62.5% completion percentage connecting on 351 of 562 passes for 30 touchdowns and 29 interceptions.

At Iowa State Rosenfels led the Cyclones to their first ever bowl game win in the 2000 Insight.com Bowl over Pittsburg.

The Football Fun day camp is meant to just give kids the opportunity to receive some advice and instruction from an NFL quarterback, as well as a fundraiser for the Spring Valley Seniors Staying Put program.

The Camp will be open for 8-11 year old students from 10:00 a.m. to noon and for 12-18 year old players from 1:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. on the athletic field behind the Spring Valley High School on Saturday, July 16, families are also invited to watch. Costs of the camp is $30, which will include a T-shirt for the players that participate and the organization is pushing to have a deadline of July 1st to register.
