BALDWIN, WI – On Thursday, May 2 the B-W Girls' Soccer team traveled to Hayward for their second conference match.  Hayward is always a difficult game for us and this time it was no different.  The team struggled to find a foothold on attack and found themselves putting up only one shot on goal.

Freshman goal keeper Olivia Chouinard had a good match holding Hayward to only 3 goals on the night.  Junior Megan Hietala and Sophomore Alison Nutt had a good match in the middle.  The loss put the Blackhawks 1-1-0 in conference matches and 2-5-0 overall.

Friday, May 3 the Blackhawks hosted Ashland at Millpond Varsity Field.   This was the first time we have seen Ashland and they were a quality side.  We spent the first half trying to keep up with the fast-paced Ashland team and playing a lot of defense.   The Blackhawks would go into half down 0-5.

The second half would be a much better match with the Blackhawks scoring first.  Senior defender Olivia Kaiser made a strong throw into the box to Senior forward Jordan Drilling who took the ball past several Ashland defenders to put her one on one with the keeper.

Drilling planted the ball in the back of the net, making it the first time a team had scored a goal against Ashland in 10 matches.   Ashland would respond with a goal of their own ending the match 1-6.  Defenders Olivia Kaiser and Montana Peterson had a good match and the team showed good strength to hold Ashland to a 1-1 tie in the second half.
