  • Seven Cardinals earn All-Conference honors in winter sports

SPRING VALLEY, WI – The winter sports season has come to an end. While that is always bittersweet, especially for seniors, it also gives those that have put in the extra work needed, to reap the rewards for that hard work. Seven Spring Valley athletes earned various all-conference honors recently in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference voting.

  • Fesenmaier takes sixth in Madison!

MADISON, WI – While the cinderella story didn’t end with the glass slipper for Kenny Fesenmaier, the Spring Valley senior did come home with a sixth place finish in the WIAA State individual tournament last weekend, which is a pretty good finish for someone that had never made it out of regionals prior to this season.

It is still disappointing to not come home with a championship medal.

  • Regional champ-check, sectional champ-check, on to State for Fesenmaier

INDEPENDENCE, WI – For Spring Valley senior Kenny Fesenmaier, getting the opportunity to advance to the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament is incredible, but to go there as a sectional champion is beyond expectations.

  • Fesenmaier leads trio of SV-E wrestlers to sectionals

CADOTT, WI – Spring Valley senior Kenny Fesenmaier has been part of some incredible wrestling teams in his four years. The senior has been to the state team tournament, but hasn’t made it past WIAA Regionals, until this year.

Not only did Fesenmaier earn the trip to the WIAA Sectional this Saturday at Independence for the first time, he goes as a Regional Champion, having captured first place.

  • Wrestlers to start trek to Madison on Saturday at Cadott

  • Cardinal wrestlers finish fourth at Shell Lake, Casey, Merth take firsts

SHELL LAKE, WI – It’s that time of the season when wrestlers are starting to hit their stride to get in the groove for post-season wrestling. They want to set themselves up for the best possible success to make their way to Madison.

The Spring Valley/Elmwood wrestlers are no different, trying to challenge themselves at every opportunity, and that’s exactly what they did last weekend at the Shell Lake Challenge wrestling tournament.

  • Boys’ hoops tops E/PC, still tops in conference

ELMWOOD, WI – Sometimes having a lay-off for an extended number of days in the regular season can take a team out of their rhythm, causing them to misfire their shots, not play together, miss their defensive assignments.

It was kind of the opposite effect for the Spring Valley boys’ basketball team last week.

  • Wrestling team keeps chugging along, wins GC dual

NEW RICHMOND, WI – It’s been a busy few weeks for the Cardinal wrestlers where there have been some challenges and successes.

  • Cardinal wrestlers start off season with good showing in Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH, WI – There has been a lot of turnover and a lot of newcomers into the fold for the Spring Valley/Elmwood wrestling team this year. The team doesn’t have wrestlers at a few weight classes, but will still be competitive, and that was shown last weekend in Ellsworth.

Obviously, Ellsworth has been the cream of the crop in Division 2 in the state for years and their Invitational brings in some good competition from both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
