BALDWIN, WI – Logan Butler, son of William and Marla Butler, is a dedicated senior at Baldwin-Woodville High School (B-W HS). 

Logan has made the commitment to enlist into the Wisconsin Army National Guard.  Logan enlisted as a 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in August and started drill in September where he spends one weekend a month in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  Logan will receive a $20,000 bonus and the Montgomery GI Bill Kicker as well as getting his college paid for. 

Logan will travel to Fort Jackson, South Carolina on June 11, 2019 for a ten-week basic training.  Upon completion of his training, he will travel to Fort Lee, Virginia for his education as a 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic.  He will return home just before Thanksgiving taking a couple months off before heading to UW-La Crosse in January for an education in pre-physical therapy field.  Logan will also join the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) as part of his education at UW-La Crosse and continue his monthly National Guard commitment in Sparta, Wisconsin.

On top of Logan’s dedication to the Wisconsin Army National Guard, he is also been very active during his career as a student here in Baldwin.  Logan is active with the State Champion Baldwin-Woodville Marching Blackhawks, lettering all four years as center snare, winter drumline as well as concert band.  Logan is also an athlete lettering in Football three years as a wide receiver/ linebacker.  Logan has also received two years lettering in track for participating in long jump, 200-meter dash, and 4 x 200.

Logan’s education is very important to him and he applies himself in his AP Chemistry, AP Probs & Stats, AP Physics and online English this semester.  Logan volunteers his time at school to SOS (Students Offering Support) as well as the Student Council. 

Outside of school, he is a member of Lone Pine 4-H Club where he enjoys bringing woodworking and showing swine at the St. Croix County Fair as well as playing 4-H Softball.  Logan participates at the Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ as part of their bell-ringing choir.  Logan is employed at Walker’s A & W, as one of their cooks.
