WOODVILLE, WI – On Friday, February 8, 2019 8th grader Halle Bignell became the champion of the Viking Middle School (VMS) spelling bee.  She became the champion by spelling the word “construction” correctly.

Halle will represent our school at the CESA #11 Southern Regional Spelling Bee on Wednesday, February 20 at Baldwin-Woodville High School in the Performing Arts Center. She will compete against students from Durand, Elk Mound, Ellsworth, Elmwood, Hudson, Menomonie, Pepin, Prescott, and Spring Valley. The results were not available at press time (and it may have had to have been rescheduled due to the weather). Look for more information on this in next week’s Woodville Leader.

If Halle was unable to compete on the day of the spelling bee, 7th grader Ben Peavey will represent our school as the alternate.

Congratulations to all of the spelling bee participants.  It was a great competition!
