Leone Lillian Osborne, age 97 of Woodville, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at the Parkview Nursing Home of Woodville, WI.

Leone was born on July 26, 1921, in Hersey, WI, the daughter of Fred and Geneiva (Caturia) Leibke. She attended and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1938. On September 12, 1940, Leone was united in marriage to Clarence Osborne by Reverend Lewis at the Woodville Lutheran Parsonage.

Leone worked beside her husband on their family farm for 40 years; she maintained and cultivated a garden, from which she developed an enthusiasm for canning. She enjoyed various needlework projects as well as teaching Sunday school and remaining active in the Ladies Aid at Zion Lutheran Church. She also served as a Band Mother for the Woodville High School Marching Band. Leone and Clarence enjoyed snowmobiling; they each had their own ‘sleds’ and rode throughout the area with their friends.

In 1980, after retiring from farming, they moved to Hammond, WI. Together they enjoyed woodworking crafts. Clarence cut the patterns and Leone did the painting. In May, 2012, Leone moved to the Cedar Crest Apartments in Baldwin, WI, and in March, 2018, she became a resident at Parkview Home, Woodville, WI.

Leone will remain in the hearts of her daughter, Shirley (Gordon) Grinley; grandchildren, Craig (Amy) Grinley, Kari (Ben) Nutting; granddaughter-in-heart, Lean Huston; great-grandchildren, Shane & Taylor Grinley; daughter-in-law, Rose Osborne; as well as many nieces, nephews & other extended family & friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Osborne; son, Gerald Osborne; parents, Fred and Geneiva; brother, Lee Leibke; as well as seven half-brothers and sisters.

A Gathering of Family and Friends was held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church of Woodville, WI, immediately followed by a Memorial Service for Leone beginning at 11 a.m.
