Alyssa Elizabeth Hagen, age 17, of Woodville, Wisconsin, died suddenly Saturday, August 21, 2010 from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Alyssa was born June 4, 1993, to Doug and Cindy (Larson) Hagen in New Richmond, Wisconsin. She was baptized and confirmed her faith at Peace Lutheran Church, Baldwin. Alyssa attended Baldwin-Woodville Schools and was a member of the Class of 2011.
Her love of animals was evident at a very young age. At age 2, she put a claim on her mother's quarter horse, Maggie, and as she grew older you would often find the two of them on the trails near her home. Alyssa found joy in all aspects of caring for animals, and cared deeply for her dogs, Festus, Dexter, and cat, Smokey. The family spent summer vacations at the lake in Hayward where Alyssa enjoyed tubing, fishing and swimming.
In addition to working part-time at the AmericInn in Baldwin, she found great joy in babysitting, especially for Jenna and Jessica Wildner. Alyssa played soccer, was manager of the varsity volleyball team, and loved dancing with the St. Croix Valley Dance Academy. She demonstrated her faith as a member of "One Step", Peace Lutheran's youth ministry group. She treasured hanging out with her friends, who admired her love for life, sense of humor, and loyalty. She was cherished by her own family and embraced into many others. Alyssa was an amazing young woman and her kind heartedness, love, and beautiful smile will be missed forever.
