WOODVILLE, WI – On Friday, March 9, 2018, OEM Fabricators, Inc. hosted newly elected State District 10 Senator Patty Schachtner for an hour and a half tour of our Woodville facility and a discussion of issues important to OEM and its’ Leadership Team Members.

Senator Schachtner is a member of the Universities and Technical Colleges committee in the Senate, an import position for impacting legislation that helps build the pipeline of a talented workforce in Wisconsin. Education and workforce were among the issues discussed, along with workers compensation reform, and wetland issues.

The Senator stressed her belief in education at all levels and was happy that she was appointed to the Universities and Technical Colleges Committee in the Senate. She shared several personal stories of her siblings and children and their educational pathways. Her family has been very connected to WITC in New Richmond.

Providing the tour was OEM’s Plant Manager, Kim Shields. Joining the tour and discussion was Rob O’Keefe, president of the St Croix Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Board, Rob is also OEM’s IT Director.

Sen. Schachtner was invited to visit OEM in Woodville, so she could understand what we do and some of the challenges we face. We also offered to be a resource for her if she has questions about the various organizations we are involved with. We were impressed with her openness and fervent desire to connect with us and understand our business.

Thank you to State District 10 Senator Patty Schachtner for the visit to OEM Fabricators, Inc. in Woodville. We look forward to working with you in the future!
