SPRING VALLEY, WI ---The snow was falling Saturday night and it was brisk on Sunday afternoon, December 1 and 2, but that didn’t keep the crowds away from the Spring Valley Stage Hands Theatre for the "Winter Wonderland” Adult and Youth Community Choirs concerts.

The nearly packed Theatre enjoyed the sights and sounds of the season that the 22nd Annual Christmas concert "Winter Wonderland” delivered.

The Adult Community Choir, under the direction of Cindy Kongshaug, and the Children's Choir, under the direction of Aarynn Bosshart and accompanied by Charlotte Nellessen as they performed favorite Christmas classics along with some new favorites.

The concert had a sweet prelude with pre-show performances by young Belle and Clare Kongshaug and Jule Schloemer.

The “Winter Wonderland” concert opened with four songs by the Children’s Choir who always delight the audiences with their sweet innocence and charming arrangements of seasonal classics. Their four selections were: “Dominick the Donkey,” “Frosty the Snowman,” “Shoulda Been a North Pole Elf” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Next the kids combined with the Adult Community Choir in performing “A Million Dreams,” with a solo by Bob Rupakus.

“Winter Wonderland” highlights included: “Christmas in the Country - Someday at Christmas,” “Ave Maria,” with a beautiful solo by Michelle Schmitt, “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “Sleep Little King,” “Ugly Christmas Sweater,” and “Winter Wonderland,” to name only half or so from the lovely holiday program of beautiful music that was performed in the concerts this year.

As is a tradition at these concerts there a few humorous surprises as well and this year it was “Walking in My Winter Underwear,” with 6 male choir members prancing and dancing in their full suited long underwear (with back flaps) about the stage with “Santa Baby” (Cindy).

The Adult Community and Children's Choirs always set the tone for the holidays and gets you in the mood for this joyous time of year. The beautiful music of “Winter Wonderland” certainly did that again this year! Thank you Community Choirs!
