SPRING VALLEY, WI – The Spring Valley Chamber of Commerce held their Annual Christmas Dinner and December meeting on Monday, December 3, 2018. The meeting with 30 or so members in attendance at Sneakers Pub and Eatery began with a pleasant social hour for members to visit before the annual delicious meal and meeting.

Chamber President Peg Vorlicek welcomed everyone and Pastor Peter Friberg of Spring Lake and Gilman Churches offered the meal invocation noting that Brother Michael was missed as he was attending to funeral duties.

President Peg then introduced the new owners and staff of Sneakers Pub & Eatery; they are Heather Landin, Ryan Pfeifer, Zack Buxton, Ruthie Malddonado, Rose Landin (Heather’s daughter) and Audrey Bigaoutte. She welcomed them to the community and thanked them for hosting the annual Chamber Christmas meal.

The President then called on the first of the tables to get in the buffet line for the delicious meal of prime rib, and baked potatoes, pork stir fry with rice, dumplings green beans, glazed carrots, dinner rolls, a yummy choice of cheese cakes for dessert and beverages. Everyone had their appetites completely satisfied as the Sneakers crew put on another feast for the Chamber.

After the grand meal, Pres. Vorlicek noted that the Chamber sponsored Christmas lights are now on at Handy Andy Park and the company she is now working with has been very helpful. She invited everyone to stop by the park and check out the beautiful display of holiday lighting sponsored by the SV Chamber.

She then introduced Lisa Wood who works with the Spring Valley Royalty and as such the Chamber.  With Lisa were three members of the four-member Spring Valley Court: Miss spring Valley Alexis McGrane, 1st Princess Rebecca Schneider and Princess Rachael Bell. Princess Sina Nystrom was unavailable for the dinner. The girls reported on their recent activities and then mingled with the Chamber members.

President Vorlicek announced then it was time to make the presentation of the 2018 Annual President’s Award plaque and she called up Claudia Traynor and her husband Mike of Claudia Traynor CPA and thanked her and Mike who does a lot for Claudia for their contributions to the community as she presented the traveling plaque to Claudia to proudly display for the next year in her office.

“Thank you so much, I am surprised and honored to get this award from the Chamber. I thank you all very much!” said Claudia Traynor the smiling CPA.

One other item was mentioned and that is the Christmas activities in the Village next Saturday with Santa coming to the Event Center in the morning from 9:30 a.m., to 12:00 p.m. With horse drawn wagon rides. Santa will be in the 2nd Annual Christmas in the Valley celebration in the evening lighted Christmas Parade at 5:30 – don’t miss it!

That concluded the formal agenda for the Christmas dinner as well as the December meeting and some members lingered to socialize.

The Spring Valley Chamber of Commerce wishes everyone Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas!
