SPRING VALLEY, WI – This past weekend, the Spring Valley Royalty: Miss Spring Valley Alexis McGrane, 1st Princess Rebecca Schneider and Princess Rachael Bell had a wonderful opportunity to volunteer with the Pierce County (PC) Sheriff’s Department at their annual “Shop With A Cop” event in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. This event connects Peace Officers with economically less fortunate kids to help them buy gifts for their families. The Spring Valley ladies had a great time bringing smiles to the kids!

The 2018 Pierce County “Shop With A Cop” happened last Saturday, December 15, from 4 PM - 8PM starting at the Ellsworth Elementary School. Fifty children from around Pierce County got the opportunity to go Christmas Shopping at Shopko paired with a uniformed officer in a squad car in a lighted parade. After shopping the kids came back to the school to wrap presents, enjoy pizza, decorate cookies and make some crafts. Then they got to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and have a big group picture taken.

The PC Sheriff's Office used donations raised from local contributors to support this cause. The children selected for “Shop With A Cop” are referred by Pierce County Human Services & counselors at each of the schools throughout the county. The Sheriff's Office does not select the children.

100% of all dollars raised were spent on the children in Pierce County. All dollars raised were spent in Pierce County as well. Officers and helpers all volunteered their time for “Shop With A Cop.”

Looking to the future, the Spring Valley Royal ladies will be helping with the Valentine's Day Party at the Spring Valley Health and Rehab Center in February 2019. They are also looking out for other ways to serve the community. If you are organizing or sponsoring a community service event and are looking for help, please reach out to svroyaltywi@gmail.com.

As always, thank you to the Spring Valley community for their support of the Royalty Program. The ladies are grateful to be of service and ambassadors of Spring Valley!
