SPRING VALLEY, WI – The 2nd Annual Christmas in the Valley celebration was a huge success last Saturday, December 8, 2018! It kicked off in the afternoon with a chili feed, held by the Spring Valley Royalty: Miss Spring Valley Alexis McGrane, 1st Princess Rebecca Schneider and Princess Rachael Bell to determine the “Royal Chili Champion,” it was Princess Rachael Bell by the people’s choice.

Next was what is considered by many to be the main event, the beautiful lighted Christmas parade. Just before 5:30 community members young and old began to line the streets all anxiously awaiting Santa's arrival. This year 14 units entered the parade, a nice representation of community clubs, businesses, services and choirs. We were also delighted to have several other community royalties join our parade.

Following the parade, everyone enjoyed the festivities happening inside the Spring Valley Community Center. The Center was a wonderful place to warm up, sip a cup of hot cocoa, munch on tasty cookies, create crafts and visit with friends and neighbors. And of course, let Santa know exactly what was on your Christmas wish list.

This was truly a magical night, that left everyone filled with the joy of the season.

The various contest winners were as follows: Best Decorated House… 1st Place - Tom Yonke, 2nd Place - Joanne Johnson, 3rd Place - the Jaeger Family. Best Decorated Business… 1st Place - NAPA, Spring Valley Auto Parts, 2nd Place - Preferred Payroll, 3rd Place A Butchery Shop. Best Parade Unit… 1st Place - Durand Royalty, 2nd Place - Jeff Johnson with A plus Auto, 3rd Place – The Rusty Horse. People’s Choice Royal Chili Champion… Spring Valley Princess Rachael Bell.

Thank you to everyone who came out, helped out and who made the 2nd annual Christmas in the Valley a huge success! See you next year!
