WISCONSIN DELLS, WI – The Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association (WFSCA) is proud to announce the 2019 Hall of Fame Class. Jerry Cognetta, Ken Franke, Dale Gray, Jim Kivisto, and Sandy Waltzer will be inducted into the WFSCA Hall of Fame at the Coaches Awards Banquet at the Chula Vista, in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Awards Banquet starting at 5:30 pm.

    MADISON, WI – Sailer's Food Market & Meat Processing of Elmwood, Wisconsin, won international recognition for their meat products at the ‘Deutscher Fleischer-Verband - American Association of Meat Processors (DFV-AAMP) Quality Competition for Sausage and Ham’, held January 21-25, 2019 in Madison, Wisconsin The results from this competition are held in conjunction with the IFFA, the world’s largest meat industry trade fair. Sailer’s has qualified for the cup of honour for special achievements in this competition.

  • Bengtson gets 5 years probation and 15 years on Sex Offender Registry

    EAU CLAIRE, WI – Daniel ‘Dino’ Bengtson, age 33 of Elmwood appeared in Eau Claire County Court on Friday, December 21, 2018 before Judge Jon Theisen who sentenced Bengtson to five years probation for a Felony Class C - Attempt 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of Child. Bengtson pleaded guilty to that charge and the charges of Felony Class D – Child Enticement and Felony Class C – Use a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime were dismissed.

  • Local CVTC grad makes late career change

    EAU CLAIRE, WI – The time was finally right for Gary LaFlex. The 52-year-old Elmwood man had long thought about a career in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field – what is commonly called HVAC. The right time arrived for him, and LaFlex recently completed courses in the one-year Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Technician program at Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC).
