WOODVILLE, WI – Thanks to a generous donation by the Woodville American Legion Post 301, the Viking Middle School Shop program now features another piece of power equipment. Shop instructor, Bruce Ashlin, was able to purchase a new miter saw with funds donated by the local post.

Through a rotating schedule, all 6th - 8th grade students spend part of their year in the shop working to develop and enhance technical education skills. Students are taught about shop safety and protocol while working on a variety of engaging, hands-on projects. Now in its third year, the class has been a highly successful and popular one at Viking Middle School.

The shop at Viking has benefitted from a variety of organizations and individuals donating funds, equipment, and materials. This latest donation provides a piece of power equipment that will be utilized for a number of student projects. In addition to the shop at Viking, The Woodville American Legion has also donated to the Baldwin-Woodville High School Sport Shooting Team, Woodville Historical Society, Turning Point, and the Woodville Boys and Girls Scouts.
