HUDSON, WI – On Wednesday March 27, 2019 at approximately 10:49 pm, the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle crash on STH 35 approximately 1/10 of a mile north of Cedar Dr. in St. Joseph Township.

Preliminary investigation statements from witnesses indicates a 2011 Ford Focus, being driven by Brian T. Foster, age 35 from Hudson, WI was southbound on STH 35. The car passed another vehicle at a high rate of speed, went onto the west shoulder and struck the guardrail. The car then went airborne and landed back on the guardrail, and then struck a tree. The car came to rest against the tree.

Foster, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul by Life Link helicopter. Foster died at Regions Hospital on Thursday, April 4, 2019 due to his injuries.

Alcohol may be a possible factor in the crash.

Assisting at the scene was North Hudson P.D., St. Joseph Fire and First Responders, Somerset Fire, Lakeview EMS, and Life Link Helicopter. The crash remains under investigation by the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office. This is the 4th traffic fatality in the St. Croix County in 2019.
