WOODVILLE, WI – Do you have an artist gene that is just waiting to pop out? Want to make something special for your grandchild? Or maybe you would like to help the not-for-profit Woodville Historical Society with their main fundraiser for the year?

If you can answer yes! to any of the above, just pick up a chair and paint it!  The Woodville Historical Society has a lot of different types of chairs and you can pick one up for $5!  Or you can use one of your own!  Then you can paint it in any family-friendly design and enter it in the Chairitage Event during Syttende Mai for a chance to win a cash prize!

As in past years, the finished chair you paint is sold at the chairitage auction immediately before the start of the Syttende Mai parade!  That way, people have a chair to sit on while watching the parade!  And if you want to keep the chair you painted, that's a possibility also!  And you don't even have to bid on it at the auction if you place an “early written bid”!

And the process is simple!  To set up a time to buy a chair, just call 715-698-2382 to meet at 130 Main Street in downtown Woodville.  Or if you are using one of your own chairs just call the above number to record your information.  Then you drop off your chair at the Woodville Historical Society on Thursday, May 16, between 3-6pm.  You can also call for more information or questions!  It's as simple as that!

So, you have the opportunity to make a chair for someone special, create a piece of art, make a seat to watch the parade all while helping the Woodville Historical Society continue to make your museum bigger and better!
