  • SPRING VALLEY, WI – The Return of Java Jive to the Spring Valley Community Center June 1st, July 6th, August 3rd and December 7th, all dates 9am - 12 noon.

  • SPRING LAKE, WI – All are welcome to Spring Lake Lutheran Church on Wednesday, May 1 from 4:00 -7:00 for a delicious supper including pancakes, real maple syrup, sausage, scrambled eggs, and applesauce. Your free will offering for the supper will be used toward Spring Lake Lutheran Church mission and ministries.

  • BALDWIN/ELLSWORTH, WI – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Aaron C. Moore in Pierce and St. Croix County reminds foreign investors with an interest in agricultural lands in the United States that they are required to report their land holdings and transactions to USDA.

  • ST. PAUL, MN – The American Red Cross (ARC) has a severe shortage of type O blood and urges type O donors – as well as eligible blood and platelet donors of all blood types – to give now to ensure lifesaving patient care isn’t impacted this winter.

    Type O blood is the most in-demand blood type, helping patients facing life-threatening conditions and emergencies every day. Type O negative blood can be transfused to patients with any blood type and is what emergency room personnel reach for when there’s no time to determine a patient’s blood type.

  • MENOMONIE, WI — WESTconsin Credit Union is offering up to fourteen $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors from the Class of 2019 as part of the credit union’s Scholarship Program. The goal is to award one scholarship in each community served by a WESTconsin office. These areas include Altoona, Amery, Baldwin, Barron, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Ellsworth, Hudson, Menomonie, New Richmond, Prescott, River Falls and Spring Valley. Scholarship recipients will be announced end of May 2019.

  • SPRING VALLEY, WI – The Spring Valley Public Library has the following upcoming events scheduled:

    Story Time: Wednesdays, September 5, 12, 19 and 26. Story Time is on these dates from 9:30-10:30pm. 

    Music Time: Tuesdays, September 25, October 30, November 27 and December 18. Music Time is on these dates at 10am.

  • ST. PAUL, MN – During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September, the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood to support kids, teens, and young adults battling cancer, as well as others in need of transfusions.

    According to the National Cancer Institute, more than 15,000 children and adolescents in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer each year. Childhood cancer patients may need blood products on a regular basis during chemotherapy, surgery or treatment for complications.

  • SPRING VALLEY, WI – The Wisconsin Historical Society presents Great Lakes Small Streams, a traveling exhibit exploring our state’s long relationship with water and the impact we have had on our vast waterways. The historical exhibit will run Thursdays through Sundays, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Spring Valley Community Center. Admission is free with donations encouraged.

  • SPRING VALLEY, WI – The Spring Valley Public Library is excited to announce two exciting adult programs happening in August!

    The first is a visit from Hudson author Shelley Tougas. Ms. Tougas writes juvenile fiction and won the Wisconsin Literacy Council Award for Children’s Literature for her most recent publication titled “Laura Ingalls Wilder is Ruining My Life.”

  • MENOMONIE, WI — WESTconsin Credit Union is collecting school supplies and monetary donations for families in need, August 1-11. Donations can be made at any WESTconsin Credit Union location and online at westconsincu.org. All proceeds will be delivered by WESTconsin Staff to local schools and organizations for distribution.
