RIVER FALLS, WI – The economic development corporations (EDCs) and participating chambers of commerce from St. Croix, Pierce, Polk, and Dunn counties will travel to Madison on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 to promote legislative priorities for the Greater St. Croix Valley.

  • PRESCOTT, WI – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss improvements to WIS 29 between US 10 and South Junction County Trunk Highway QQ in Pierce County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Prescott City Hall located at 800 Borner Street, Prescott, Wisconsin 54021.

  • Severe blood shortage: ARC issues immediate call for blood and platelet donations

    ST. PAUL, MN — The American Red Cross is facing a severe blood shortage and urgently needs blood and platelet donors to give now to avoid delays in lifesaving medical care for patients. Volunteer blood drive hosts are also critically needed to prevent the shortage from worsening this winter.

  • RIVER FALLS, WI – Join internationally recognized animal behaviorist Patricia McConnell as she shares “The Education of Will,” a memoir of healing after trauma in both people and pets, on Thursday, October 18, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF). The talk, part of the Lydecker Lecture Series, is free and open to the public in Room 200 of the Agricultural Science building.

  • MENOMONIE, WI — WESTconsin Credit Union is offering up to fourteen $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors from the Class of 2019 as part of the credit union’s Scholarship Program. The goal is to award one scholarship in each community served by a WESTconsin office. These areas include Altoona, Amery, Baldwin, Barron, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Ellsworth, Hudson, Menomonie, New Richmond, Prescott, River Falls and Spring Valley. Scholarship recipients will be announced end of May 2019.

  • ST. PAUL, MN – During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September, the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood to support kids, teens, and young adults battling cancer, as well as others in need of transfusions.

    According to the National Cancer Institute, more than 15,000 children and adolescents in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer each year. Childhood cancer patients may need blood products on a regular basis during chemotherapy, surgery or treatment for complications.

  • SPRING VALLEY, WI – The Wisconsin Historical Society presents Great Lakes Small Streams, a traveling exhibit exploring our state’s long relationship with water and the impact we have had on our vast waterways. The historical exhibit will run Thursdays through Sundays, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Spring Valley Community Center. Admission is free with donations encouraged.

  • MADISON, WI – Informational meetings will be held around the state to offer an opportunity to learn more about the Ag in the Classroom program. The meetings are open to Ag in the Classroom volunteers, 4-H Extension staff and club leaders, agriculture education instructors, FFA Food for America committee chairs, FFA Alumni, commodity groups, home school parents, teachers of all grade levels and subjects, Farm Bureau members and others interested in learning more about Ag in the Classroom resources and initiatives. There is no charge or pre-registration required.
