ELMWOOD, WI – It took all of five games, but the Raiders were able to knock off the Plum City Blue Devils last week by a 3-2 margin.

Elmwood won the first game 25-17, before losing the second 26-24. The Raiders came back to win game three handily, 25-11, but then lost another close one, 26-24, sending the match into the final game.

In the final game of the night, the Raiders notched the Dunn-St. Croix Conference win with an easy 15-3 win.

Sarah Larson led the Raider attack with 15 kills, while Kylee Sabelko added nine, and Addy Welch had eight. Tori Olson had a team-high 21 assists on the night.  Mikayla Afdahl had 49 defensive digs, while Addy Welch recorded four solo blocks.

Later in the week, the Raiders found themselves on the losing end of a tight match with the Durand Panthers.

In another see-saw battle, the Raiders dropped the first game 25-23 and then bounced back to win 25-20. The Panthers rebounded to win game three 25-10, but then watched as Elmwood tied it up with a 25-22 win in game four. The deciding game – and the win – went to the Panthers, 15-12.

Hannah Feuker had 12 kills against the Panthers, while Tori Olson had 23 assists, and Mikayla Afdahl had 52 digs.

Over the weekend, the Raiders participated in a tournament at Gilman High School.  Elmwood came away with a 3-3 record after recording wins against Alma Center Lincoln, Cornell, and Flambeau. Their three losses came at the hands of Gilman, Rib Lake, and Phillips.
