ELMWOOD, WI -- Elmwood Food Pantry patrons greatly appreciated recent donations from the Elmwood School students and staff.
In November, the FFA had a “Sockvember” fundraiser, asking students and faculty to donate socks to help people in need. A grand total of 688 pairs of socks were collected and donated to the pantry. Lots of feet will be kept warm this winter because of these donations!
As they do every year, the Elmwood Student Council collected toys to be distributed at the Elmwood Pantry before Christmas. School classes, clubs, and local businesses donated toys, and money to purchase even more toys, resulting in a huge selection of toys and games.
The school also collected groceries during their annual food drive, which took place during the week of December 5-9, 2016. The food drive encourages working together as an entire school body, K-12, toward a common goal. Over 1000 food items were collected, so local families could have nutritious meals over the holidays and in the months to come.
In addition to this, the Elmwood Schools FCCLA donated another 54 pounds of food, and cash for buying more groceries!
The Elmwood Food Pantry would like to thank the Elmwood School students, teachers, and staff for their ongoing support of the food pantry. They made Christmas merrier for so many grateful parents and children!
