ELMWOOD, WI – Several EPC and Elmwood athletes earned post-season honors this fall in their respective sports while representing the Wolves and the Raiders.

Kassye Todd and Josie Tiffany were tabbed as first and second team honorees, respectively, after having great seasons on the cross country courses. Todd participated in the 2016 WIAA State Cross Country Meet, and placed 12th overall in the Division 3 girls’ race. Tiffany just missed a berth in the WIAA State Meet as well.

Mikayla Afdahl was the lone pick from the Elmwood High School Volleyball Team after finishing second in the Dunn-St. Croix with 409 defensive digs. Afdahl earned first team honors for her efforts.

The EPC football team, co-champions of the South Lakeland Conference, had six players tabbed as all-conference players – four of which earned honors on both sides of the ball.

Anthony Ebensperger, Tristan Linse, Sam Hoyt, and Austin Turner were all-conference players on both offense and defense.

Ebensperger (1st Team WR/1st Team DB) had 1096 all-purpose yards and nine touchdowns with 409 yards receiving and 258 yards on the ground. Sam Hoyt (2nd Team RB/2nd Team OLB) had 1125 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns in total. Hoyt rushed for a team-high 725 yards on 120 carries, and had 49.5 tackles and two interceptions on defense.

Austin Turner (1st Team DL/2nd Team OL) had 28 total tackles, including 2.5 tackles-for-a loss (TFL).  The final two-way all-conference player, Tristan Linse, anchored both the offense and defensive lines for EPC.  Linse was a 1st Team offensive lineman and a 2nd Team defensive lineman.

The two other SLC All-Conference players were Luke Baier and Collin Weix. Baier was a 2nd Team defensive end who had 22.5 tackles, two sacks, and 4.5 TFL’s, while Weix, a 2nd Team outside linebacker, led the Wolves with 61.5 tackles during the 2016 season.
