  • ELMWOOD, WI – In response to community needs, the Elmwood School District board approved establishing a self-sustaining child care center to be housed in the elementary wing of the school building. The center is set for a September 1, 2017 start date.

    Now accepting enrollment for children 6 weeks to 4-years-old; the Elmwood Early Learning Center is committed to nurture your child’s social, emotional, and physical growth through developmentally and individually appropriate activities and programs while maintaining a positive partnership with you, the parents.

  • Trevor Tuenge accepts donation for Elmwood's Clay Target Team

    DANBURY, WI – Elmwood Clay Target Student/Athlete, Trevor Tuenge, recently accepted a check for $1500 from The Lake Superior Chapter of Safari Club International (SCI).  The funds will be used to facilitate upgrades at the range and help offset target and ammunition costs. The Elmwood's Clay Target Team uses the range at the Elmwood Rod and Gun Club in rural Elmwood, Wisconsin.

  • Emily Pickerign of Elmwood High School named 2017 DAR Good Citizen

    EAU CLAIRE, WI –– Emily Pickerign, daughter of Jeffrey and Lizabeth Pickerign of Elmwood, was presented the 2017 Good Citizen Award from the Eau Claire Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) at a ceremony recently at the Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire. This award is given to a high school senior who excels academically, participates in extracurricular activities, and is active in the community.

  • McKayla Brunner receives Stout Wood Medallion

    MENOMONIE, WI -- A Leadership Awards program for the 2016-17 academic year recognized nearly 90 students and student groups who were nominated at University of Wisconsin-Stout.

  • FARGO, ND — Seth A. Jones, of Elmwood, Wisconsin, majoring in Zoology was among the 3,808 North Dakota State University students to be placed on the spring 2017 dean’s list.

    A student must earn a 3.50 grade point average or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 class credits to qualify for the spring list.

  • COLFAX, WI - The Spring Valley golf team continues to hold the lead in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference golf standings, despite finishing in second place last week in Colfax.

    The Cardinals took first place in Mondovi on April 20th with a team score of 164. Valley was led by conference leader Tyler Leach with a nine-hole score of 35. The junior defending state champion in Division Three continues to lead the conference week-in and week-out.

    MADISON, WI - The Spring Valley/Elmwood wrestling team sent five individuals to the state wrestling meet this past weekend, three of them came home with some hardware.

    INDEPENDENCE, WI - The Spring Valley/Elmwood wrestling team brought five wrestlers to the WIAA Individual Sectional tournament this past weekend. Those same five wrestlers are in Madison today as they all advanced to the WIAA Individual State Tournament this week.

  • MOUNT VERNON, IA – Georgia Gump of Elmwood was one of over 200 Cornell College students named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2016 semester. Gump earned Highest Honors. Honors signifies a semester grade point average of 3.6 to 3.79; High Honors signifies an average of 3.8 to 3.99; and Highest Honors signifies a 4.0 grade point average.
