BALDWIN, WI – On Tuesday, August 22, 2017, the Baldwin-Woodville girls golf team attended the Amery Invite in Amery. Here are the results for the 11 competing teams: New Richmond 392, Stanley-Boyd 414, Amery 424, Baldwin-Woodville 438, Ellsworth 446, Colfax 470, Osceola 482, Somerset 492, SCC 525, Saint Croix Falls - no team score. Regis/Altoona - no team score.

Overall not a bad day - 4th place - Amery is a tough course with a lot of water and hazard areas. We had our share of those shots which hurt the team score. We go back for the conference tourney in late September, so we hope to shoot better scores.

These are the individual scores and observations for the Hawks: Hope Tiffany 99 - A high score for Hope, a little inconsistent with her driver and iron play. Emily McNamara 112 - Solid golf, still working on the irons and staying in the short grass. I know she is close to getting a good round! Roza Emmert 113 - Roza's first varsity golf match - she had a good day and kept her golf ball in play. Lindsay Burr 114 - 57 and 57 so consistent on both sides but still on the high end for scoring. She hit better tee shots today and is starting to get her game back. Ashley Burr 125 - Ashley is playing better, she is bringing her scores down slowly.  I look for her to be consistently in the 50's soon.

Thursday, August 24 had the Hawks on the road to the Osceola Invite - 9 holes for a Middle Border Conference match-up.

The team results are as follows: New Richmond 186, Ellsworth 201, Amery 207, B-W 209, Osceola 216, SCC 217, Prescott 220, Somerset 240, SCFalls - not enough for a team score!

It was another beautiful early fall day to play fall golf for all involved!   A good score for B-W, 209 and in 4th place, but I think it should have been a lot better day. We kind of struggled late in the round with all scores. The hazards were tough on B-W later in the round.

This is the B-W individual scores recap and comments: Hope Tiffany 44 - a good round for Hope, she had a couple tough holes, but made a lot of pars too. Lindsay Burr and Emily McNamara - 51 - both had a chance on the last hole to keep their rounds in the 40s. Again, both had a couple of holes that included a big number. The short game is improving!

Ashley Burr 63 - Ashley had some really good shots, but also was in the hazard a few times too. She is hitting much better than what her scores are coming in at. Around the greens was a little bit on the tough side on the day.

Tessa Van Someren 69 - Still a bit high for Tessa. The hazards were tough. First time at Krooked Kreek, she is figuring out her short game, and will start getting better from the tee soon.
