Velta Rae Trealoff, age 89, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died November 6, 2016 at home.

Velta was born March 10, 1927 to Lillie Mae (Beardsley) Leehe and Adolph Gustave (Luhe) Leehe in the Cady Creek area of Elmwood, Wisconsin. Velta attended Cady Creek School and was a 1945 graduate of Elmwood High School.

Prior to her marriage to Orville Trealoff on September 20, 1945, Velta was baptized and confirmed, and remained a life long member of the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Cady Township. Velta and Orville made their home at the Trealoff family farm. They were blessed with four children, Sandra Kay, Sherry Ann, Nona Jean and Gregory Scott.

From the young age of four years old, Velta became a farm girl by milking her first cow.

Throughout her life being outdoors, farming and gardening, cooking, canning and baking, entertaining family and friends and being a devoted and nurturing wife and mother became her focus. She was also a life long member of the Ladies Aid at church.

Preceding Velta in death were her husband, Orville Trealoff, her parents, her brothers, sisters and in-laws: Lyle and Clarice “Toots” Leehe, Robert and Pat Leehe, Loren Leehe, Frederick Leehe, Helen and Marvin Fritz, Marvel and Jim Schlosser, Vera and Robert Peterson, Mildred and Bernard King, Franklin and Bernice Trealoff, Bonnie and Jack Kapping, George and Maxine Glampe, Mabel Glampe, and Margaret and Fritz Moldenhauer; nephews: Gerald Schlosser and Wayne Kapping; niece: Terri (Kapping) Sampson

Survivors include three daughters: Sandra (Don) Hinzman of Spring Valley, Sherry (Douglas) Lamb of Hudson, Nona (Jeffrey) Trealoff-Bock of River Falls; one son: Gregory (Terri) Trealoff of Wilson; eight grandchildren: Angela (Scott) Hunter of Spring Valley, Melissa (Daniel) Weston of Cottage Grove, MN, Aaron (Brooke) Hinzman of Spring Valley, Jon (Tera) Hinzman of Spring Valley, Kiandra (Ryan) Freeman of Roseville, Minnesota, Robert Trealoff of Menomonie, Lauren Trealoff of Wilson and Conner Trealoff of Madison; 13 great grandchildren: Tyler Hunter, Tucker Hunter, Mara Weston, Ella Weston, Alyssa Hinzman, Andrea Hinzman, Taydra Beck, TavannaReckman, TaytumTraynor, Brayntton Traynor, Carson Hinzman, Jaylen Hinzman and Breslin Hinzman; brother and sisters-in-law: Henry and Violet Leehe of Velpen, Indiana and Marge Leehe of Elmwood and many nieces, nephews and other relatives

Pallbearers for Velta will be her eight grandchildren.

Funeral service is Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Spring Valley. Visitation is from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at church prior to the service.  Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Spring Valley.
