RivDearmon, Tim L. (neé Rivard) age 30, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on November 4, 2017.

He was born to Timothy L. Rivard Sr. and Kelly A. Rohwedder (neé Demma) on May 28, 1987 in Baldwin, Wisconsin. Tim graduated from Spring Valley High School in Spring Valley, Wisconsin in 2005 and went on to receive an Associate’s Degree in Music Business from Minnesota School of Business. Tim married the love of his life, Joseph C. RivDearmon (neé McDearmon), in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 17, 2016.

He began his career as the founder and owner of Street Fusion, a concert promotion and booking company in Minneapolis. Tim moved into his most recent work as a visionary entrepreneur and a creative talent with YourMLSsearch (YMLS) when he was 22 years old. With a unique combination of technical savvy, design sensibility and user focus, Tim built truly elegant, accessible and beautiful products that helped to redefine an industry. Within his first week at YMLS, he gave up his office and moved to a small conference table that he shared with his boss, company owner Richard Gage. They continued working together, at that conference table and others, hand in glove for the next eight years. In that time, Tim put his stamp on marketing, strategy, design and technology; ultimately becoming responsible for YMLS’s entire offering.

In 2010, Tim began his charitable work with Minnesota Spay Neuter Assistance Program (MN SNAP), the same year that MN SNAP began operations. Tim formally joined the MN SNAP Board of Directors in 2013. His tenure saw the organization’s most aggressive period of growth, including a move into a permanent headquarters and the milestone of its 100,000th surgery. In 2015, Tim took over responsibility for the FurryTail Ball, raising over half of the organization’s annual fundraising budget. Each subsequent Ball that Tim helped to orchestrate was more opulent than the last, as he incorporated decor and live performances that fell in seamlessly with his vision of the event.

Outside of his professional and nonprofit work, Tim enjoyed seeing live music throughout his beloved city of Minneapolis. He enjoyed spending time with his two nephews and his Great Dane, Rebel, traveling and camping with his husband, and keeping up with the latest technology. Above all else, Tim was gifted in bringing people together. Those who were fortunate to know Tim would tell you he felt like an old friend, regardless of how early or recently he came into their lives. The intricate web that he’s built between his friends, family, and colleagues is remarkable to behold, with bonds that will last a lifetime.

Tim is survived by his husband Joe RivDearmon; his loving mother, Kelly (Randy) Rohwedder; his older sister, Shelby Atkinson; his nephews, Max and Arlo; his father, Timothy (Bonnie) Rivard, Sr., and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 12 pm, with a reception to follow in the reception hall. In lieu of flowers, Tim’s family asks that you consider a donation to his charitable organization of choice, MN SNAP. Information can be found at www.MNSNAP.org.
