James A. Duberke of Ladysmith, WI, passed away on Thursday June 28th at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

Jim was born on March 7th, 1935, in Hatchville WI. Jim was the son of Arthur and Margaret (Ninneman) Duberke. He married Diane Tanberg on August 15th, 1959. He was blessed with two children, Kathy and Kraig. His wife and children meant the world to him.

Jim proudly served his country by joining the Air Force after one year of college. After completing his tour of duty in the Air Force,

Jim continued his college education, graduating from La Crosse State University in 1962 with a degree in education. He taught school in Somerset, Prairie Farm and Ladysmith. He also coached several sports as well as being Athletic Director at the schools he taught at. He was

an avid fisherman who, when not with his family, could be found fishing with friends on the lakes and streams of Wisconsin and Canada.

Jim was also an avid reader who enjoyed collecting a large selection of books.

Jim is survived by his wife Diane of 59 years, his children Kathy (Alan Pooler) of Woodbury, MN and Kraig of Hudson, WI. He is also survived by his brother in law Jon (Kristen Larson) Tanberg and sister in law Laurie (Reece) Keehr, both of Spring Valley, WI, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Margaret Duberke. A celebration of Jim's life is going to be held at a later date.
