WOODVILLE, WI – Riders from the Twin Cities, Duluth and Chicago visited Woodville on this, our fifth year of Bicycling Around River Falls (B.A.R.F.).

Our adventure began in River Falls on Thursday the 7th of September. About 20 miles into our ride, we paused to enjoy 3 pans of cinnamon rolls purchased at the Maple Lawn Bakery.  Our ride then took us to Menomonie, Durand and Woodville before returning to River Falls.

Wisconsin hills were both challenging and welcome, giving us spectacular views and quick descents. Route options of 40 and 65 miles sufficiently challenged riders producing some great appetites.  We truly enjoy bicycling rural Wisconsin with its fantastic secondary road system, low traffic volume and considerate drivers.

Saturday, we took our customary route from Durand to Woodville via Eau Galle and County Road X near Weston, pausing for a picnic lunch prepared by the Woodville Café.  An outstanding dinner catered by the Woodville Café on the Woodville Motel lawn (Countryside Inn) was absolutely delicious.  Any concerns about change in ownership of the Woodville Motel were quickly put to bed as we were warmly received.

Sunday dawned with a gorgeous sunrise, perfect for a group photo and a leisurely tour of Woodville.  Swinging by the Woodville Motel we rode to Baldwin, paused at AJ’s Northside for coffee and on to River Falls to end the tour.
