WOODVILLE, WI – The Woodville Lions Club held their annual Golf Outing and September meeting on Monday, September 11, 2017. The Regular Meeting was called to order by club President, Greg Jacobson at the Glen Hills Golf Course in Glenwood City. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all members present.  Lion Larry Knegendorf led the members with a sincere table prayer.

Lion’s Secretary Jim Wickboldt presented a host of “Thank you’s” for several donations made by the Woodville Lions Club. Proving once again, “Where there is a need there is a Lion.”

Club Treasurer Lion Steve gave the current financial report for the Club, which the members approved as submitted. This was also true of the Secretary’s Report submitted by Lion Wickboldt.

There was some New Business and Old Business on the agenda for the September meeting that was discussed and dispatched.

With the business agenda items cleared the results of the Golf Outing were reported:  Lion Steve Perry was closest to the pin on #5.  The longest put was by Lion Jason Nilssen on #9.  Closest to the pin in two shots was Lion Jeff Schneider on #2.  The scores were pretty consistent at 43, 45, 47 and 53.

According to the minutes report from Lion Wickboldt, “Majority opinion was that the Club members need to play more golf.”

Then drawings were made for the many door prizes and Lion Larry Knegendorf moved to adjourn the meeting.  Lion Jeff Schneider seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

The October meeting was called to order on Monday, October 9, 2017 by Past President Lion Rick Torgerson presiding for the ill President Lion Greg Jacobson. Lion Torgerson was assisted at the Head Table by Vice President Lion JR Dachel who recorded the minutes of the meeting for the absent Secretary Lion Wickboldt.

The Lions enjoyed a meal of shredded turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas and carrots, dinner roll and chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The delicious buffet meal was prepared by the gracious ladies of the Woodville Women’s Club. The Lions always eat well because of these gals!

Club Treasurer Lion Steve gave the Treasurer’s report, which the members approved as submitted. With the President and Secretary both absent the meeting tabled many of the items on the agenda until the November meeting.

The dates for the upcoming Super Bowl Sunday Breakfast was noted as February 4, 2018.

It was also noted that Bowl will be held in Minneapolis this year and the Vikings will be there serving coffee while watching the Packers playing for the Super Bowl LII NFL Championship.

It should also be noted as the newly painted sign says welcoming all to Woodville that Syttende Mai is just around the corner on May 17-19, 2018. Uff Da!
