SPRING VALLEY, WI – On Monday, October 23 the Spring Valley Public Library will be hosting USA Today Bestselling Author Allen Eskens at 6:00pm. Allen Eskens is the author of “The Life We Bury”, “The Guise of Another”, “The Heavens May Fall” and his latest title recently released on October 3: “The Deep Dark Descending.”

Come and join us for a presentation, Q & A and book signing. Books will be available to purchase at the event by Chapter 2 Books. This author visit is made possible through Chapter 2 Books of Hudson, Wisconsin who have been instrumental in connecting authors with area libraries. Chapter 2 Books is an independent bookseller, “Thank you Chapter 2 Books!”

This event is also sponsored by the Friends of the Spring Valley Public Library who will be providing refreshments during the event.

In addition to our upcoming author visit, our usual monthly programs are still ongoing with Book Club at 9am and Crochet Club at 10am on the second Saturdays of the month; the next Book Club and Crochet Club will be held on Saturday, October 14. Crochet Club is open to beginners and, we have a left-handed instructor available for those of you who are lefthanders! The library also has crochet hooks and yarn available to get beginners started. This month for our bi-weekly Film Club we will be showing “Legend of the Holy Drinker” (1988) at 7:15pm on October 12 and “Spirit of the Beehive” (1973) at 7:15pm on October 26.

Also, Fall Story Time is now in session and will continue to be held on Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30am beginning on Wednesday, September 27 and going until December 20. Story Time is a free program and open to ages 0-5.
