SPRING VALLEY, WI – Four-year-old Colton Falde of Baldwin, WI, took home the Second place trophy at the Wisconsin State Pedal Pull Competition in Reedsburg, WI on September 2, 2017.

Pedal tractor pulls are a competition for boys and girls, ages 4-12. It provides good, clean family fun while building up children's self-esteem, confidence and good sportsmanship. The child pedals a pedal tractor, while pulling an eliminator sled, which moves the weight forward and gets harder to pedal the further the child pedals. Awards are handed out, whether a ribbon, medal or a simple Popsicle and the top 3 from each group qualify to go to the State competition.

Young Falde is headed to the National Pedal Pull Competition at the Corn Palace, in Mitchell, SD later this month. Colton is the son of Nathan and Melissa Falde of Baldwin, the Grandson of Lowell and Jodie Falde of Beldenville, the great Grandson of Naoma Falde of Spring Valley and Dr. Alan Stewart of River Falls.

Colton first started pulling last Fall at the 2016 Dam Days in Spring Valley, where he won first place. This summer, he attended many more Pulls and placed first or second in all competitions. He loves to pedal the tractor and has a lot of fun trying his best at it.  When he's not pulling, he attends preschool and farms with his Dad on the family farm.

Congratulations and good luck at Nationals Colton!
