MARTELL TOWNSHIP, WI – At 11:09 PM on October 25, 2017 the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single car vs bear crash on State Highway 29 west of 620th Street in Martell Township, Pierce County, Wisconsin.

The car, a 2014 Subaru operated by Lisa Thomas, 32 of Elmwood, Wisconsin, was traveling Eastbound on State Highway 29 near the intersection of 620th St. when she struck a black bear in the Eastbound lane.

Thomas sustained minor injuries, was evaluated on scene by Ellsworth EMS and later released from the scene by medical personnel.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ellsworth Emergency Medical Services.
