ELMWOOD, WI – The rain made it too wet for the Easter Bunny to visit Butternut Park again this year, but it was nice and dry and there were hundreds of eggs to be collected in the historic Elmwood Auditorium for 2017.

All of the children came up the steps and were greeted by the 2016-17 Elmwood Royalty and entered their names into the right age appropriate buckets for prize drawings.

Once everyone was ready Jessie Bleskacek announced that the youngest kids would go first and have a few extra seconds to gather eggs before all of the 73 kids could get “crackin’” to fill their Easter baskets with the brightly colored eggs, some of which were special eggs with little toys or treats inside of them.

After all of the eggs were collected in a whirl and flash scramble the Easter Bunny (Josh Bleskacek) appeared and took his place of honor on his special chair and greeted all the kids and posed for those special pictures with his many admirers. The Easter Bunny was assisted by the lovely Miss Elmwood Rebekah Connell and her two Princesses Kendra Kern and Sophia Tiffany.

Then it was time to draw names for the bikes and prizes. Winners for the 2017 door prizes were:

Yuleisy Munoz, Jordy Kosin, Marie Steigen, Jace ?, Shianna DeLong, Lucas Hartung, Gaven O., Kyra Edgemon, Andrew Young, Magdalana Kittel, Ryan Rupakus, Jessica Ambers, Saige Buchholz, and Zaydin Pierce. Congratulations to all!

This popular annual family friendly event was sponsored for the delight of the community children by the Elmwood Community Club who thanks everyone for coming and to the generous donors for their contributions.

The Easter Bunny is looking forward to hopping into Elmwood again next year, hopefully back outside for the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Butternut Park.
