  • Rollover in Elmwood results in 2nd OWI for SV man

    ELMWOOD, WI – On April 27, 2017 at 12:31am the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a one-vehicle rollover on County Rd P at Partridge Drive in the Village of Elmwood, with one patient trapped in the vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene to find a 2002 Chevy Cavalier operated by Jesse Schmitt, age 21, of Spring Valley.

    SPRING VALLEY, WI – Last Tuesday, April 4, 2017 was the 2017 Spring Election; there were two Nonpartisan Offices open for election. The first was for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Two-term incumbent Tony Evers defeated Lowell Holtz with 70% of the vote (494,846). Holz received 30% of the vote (212,536) of the 707, 382 total votes cast.

  • ELMWOOD, WI – The February 13 Elmwood Village Board proceedings started with a public hearing on a request by Scott and Stacy Anderson for a dog kennel license.

    The Andersons, who live on a 1.5-acre lot at 112 W. Partridge Ave., have two dogs now but had three when they moved to Elmwood about a year ago The third died shortly after that move.

    Speaking about the problem at the public hearing they had requested, Scott said the couple currently has an elderly Saint Bernard and a younger, much smaller English Bulldog.  They would like to get another English Bulldog.
