ELMWOOD, WI – According to Jake Sailer; Herb Husby Elmwood’s former barber started the tradition along with “Shorty” Demarce of flying over downtown Elmwood during one night of UFO Days and doing a “plate drop.”

  • Elmwood teacher works on State Capitol video game for students

    MADISON, WI – On Thursday, August 3 and Friday, August 4, 2017 Elmwood Elementary School 5th grade teacher George Klink met with nine other Wisconsin teachers on the UW-Madison campus to work with experts in video games, history and curricular design to begin building a new digital learning tool for 4th graders. The project is the result of a partnership between Wisconsin Public Television (WPT), the Wisconsin Historical Society, and Field Day Lab, an educational game design team housed in UW-Madison. It was inspired by the Capitol Centennial. There were lots of breakouts and brainstorms, connections across several institutions, and hard work.

    ELMWOOD, WI – The 2017 Elmwood UFO Days began last Friday with the usual proliferation of mega garage sales with bargains galore all over the Village. Friday night is always reserved for the Miss Elmwood Coronation, but sadly this year with no candidates that came forward the coronation became the Miss Elmwood Scholarship Pageant.

They were chosen for their years of community involvement and service. John and Donna will be introduced and recognized at the Miss Elmwood program on Friday, July 28, 2017, which begins at 7 p.m. in the historic Elmwood Auditorium.

  • Rollover in Elmwood results in 2nd OWI for SV man

    ELMWOOD, WI – On April 27, 2017 at 12:31am the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a one-vehicle rollover on County Rd P at Partridge Drive in the Village of Elmwood, with one patient trapped in the vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene to find a 2002 Chevy Cavalier operated by Jesse Schmitt, age 21, of Spring Valley.
