ELMWOOD, WI – The July meeting was held for the Village Board of Elmwood on Monday, July 9, 2018 in the historic Village Auditorium, Dining Room. The Board members present for the meeting were: President Bill Stewart and Trustees Marge Binkowski, Josh Bleskacek, Paul Unser, Dolores Radtke, Richard Jones and Rick Stohr.

  • Wisconsin Cheese Day celebrated in Pierce County

    ELLSWORTH, WI – Paul Fetzer of Elmwood Fetzer Farms and Department of Agriculture, Trade along with Consumer Protection (DATCP) Secretary Sheila Harsdorf and others visited, made a presentation and took a tour at the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery last week.

  • Elmwood Area Community Club receives generous donation

    ELMWOOD, WI – Through the generous support of Thrivent Financial, and their "Live Generously" community support campaign, the Elmwood Area Community Club is the recipient of a $500 startup donation to help fund expenses for the 40th UFO Days celebration July 27-29, 2018.

    ELMWOOD, WI – Elmwood's Food Pantry received a $3,000.00 grant award from the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation earlier this year, to be used for remodeling and operating expenses in 2018. The stated mission of the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation is to give back to the community, and we are very grateful for their generosity!

    ELMWOOD, WI – The Crain-Ottman American Legion Post 207 and Auxiliary Unit 207 held their Memorial Day first going to the following area cemeteries: St. John’s Lutheran (Hatchville) - 8:15am, Oakridge (Reed) 8:30am, Spring Lake (Both) - 8:50am, Sacred Heart (Farm Hill) - 9:30am, Old Rock Elm - 9:45am, and Poplar Hill - 10:00am, then Veteran’s Memorial Park - 11:00am.

    TURTLE LAKE, WI – Lake Country Dairy is celebrating its win of seven medals at the World Championship Cheese Contest, including a Best in Class medal for its Cello Hand-Crafted Asiago. Fetzer Farms of Elmwood, Wisconsin is one of four area dairies contributing to these award-winning cheeses.

    ELMWOOD, WI – The Elmwood High School held their Graduation Commencement Ceremony last Friday evening, May 18, 2018 for the 11 seniors of the Class of “Twenty 18” and the eighth grade Middle School graduates all in the Elmwood High School Gymnasium. There was a full crowd of proud family and friends gathered to witness this life’s major benchmark event.

  • Elmwood Junior accepted to WALLECA

    ELMWOOD, WI -– We all have goals, but very few are able to start their path in high school. When Kali Brathol applied to join the ranks of the Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Academy (WALLECA), she was competing against juniors and seniors across the state for one spot out of 40 available. Brathol didn't have to do a fitness test to get accepted.  She completed an application and 150 words or less essay on why she was interested in law enforcement and attending WALLECA.

    CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI – Local seniors Luke Baier of Elmwood High School and Michaela Borup of Spring Valley High School were each awarded a prestigious 2018 Herb Kohl Initiative Scholarship from the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation, Inc. This was two of only seven presented to senior high school students in CESA 11.
