RIVER FALLS, WI – The St Croix Valley Master Gardener Association Thursday, October 26, 2017 meeting will hear several recipients of the grants awarded by Master Gardeners in May. 

A total of $4,482 in grants was given to 19 projects in nine areas in Pierce and St Croix Counties.  The projects include gardens at schools, nursing homes, fairs and municipalities. Seven were for Youth Education programs.   

A U W-Extension program, Master Gardeners’ role includes public education efforts, part of which is represented by the grant funds distributed to community group. Funds are raised by the June Octagon House Plant Sale and the March Garden U Spring Seminar. Grant applications are open to non-profit groups and are available at the beginning of the year. 

The meeting will be at the First Covenant Church, 1374 N Main St, River Falls starting at 6:45 p.m. The public is invited.
