WOODVILLE, WI – The Woodville Senior Center (WSC) will be hosting their annual fundraiser at Culver’s of Baldwin on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Visit Culver’s between 4:30-7:30 p.m., and Culvers will donate a percentage of their sales to the Senior Center.

  • RIVER FALLS, WI – The St Croix Valley Master Gardener Association Thursday, October 26, 2017 meeting will hear several recipients of the grants awarded by Master Gardeners in May. 

    A total of $4,482 in grants was given to 19 projects in nine areas in Pierce and St Croix Counties.  The projects include gardens at schools, nursing homes, fairs and municipalities. Seven were for Youth Education programs.

    A program on "Making Fall Decorations" will be led by Rocky Gerhardt and Ilse Hancock. The hostesses will be Bonnie Ringer and Ellen Hurtgen.

  • NEW RICHMOND, WI -- The 2018 Gubernatorial election is already underway and many of the candidates, likely to be our next governor are coming to St Croix County.

    On Thursday, October 12, 2017, the first of two forums will be held at Reddy Randy's in New Richmond (the corner of HWY 65 & G) doors open at 6:00 p.m., presentations start at 7:00.

  • WOODVILLE, WI – This year St. Croix County and some 1,000 other communities nationwide are joining together in interfaith CROP Hunger Walks around the theme "Ending hunger one step at a time".

    Please join us as we walk to help those worldwide that walk every day to survive, as well as the millions served by local food pantries, food banks, and meal sites here in the U.S. St Croix County CROP Hunger Walk will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Woodville, Wisconsin, on Sunday, October 8, 2107 at 2:00 p.m.

  • BALDWIN, WI – The Tuesday Community Supper is served the first Tuesday of every month at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1350 Florence Street, Baldwin, Wisconsin, 54002. 

    This is a free meal open to anyone in the community, served from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.  Area churches, businesses and organizations take turns preparing and serving good nutritious food every month.

  • BALDWIN, WI -- The public is invited to view the flower show "Reaping the Harvest" and the photography contest sponsored by the Botany Belles & Beaus Garden Club, held at DJ's Fiesta Event Center on Baldwin’s Main Street. 

    Anyone from the community may enter in the horticulture division of the flower show which includes flowers, houseplants, foliage and produce. For details, the flower show schedules are available at the public libraries.

  • RIVER FALLS, WI -- Master Gardeners will hear about house plants at their September 28, 2017 meeting tonight.

    Pat Mattson, well-known in the St Croix area as well as Minnesota, will be telling MGs about all aspects of African violets. Pat brings with her a wealth of information from how to plant to what to plant your violets in. Her handouts include about 7-12 sheets on various subjects like lighting, making a plant stand, and more. But the best will probably be the one sheet called “why doesn’t my African violet bloom?” that has “one-liner” information we can use. She also judges and worked two days at the Minnesota State Fair with the African violet booth.

  • BALDWIN, WI – Master Gardener Volunteer training will be offered by University of Wisconsin Extension beginning Monday, September 11, 2017, at the St. Croix County Agricultural Service and Education Center in Baldwin, Wisconsin.

    Master Gardeners are members of the local community who are trained by University of Wisconsin Extension educators and specialists in a broad range of plant science topics. Topics to be covered, among others, include basic botany, soils and composting, plant diseases and insects, trees and shrubs, annuals and perennials, lawn care, vegetables, fruits, wildlife, native plants, weeds, organic growing and houseplants.
