RIVER FALLS, WI – Starting on October 3, 2017, Pierce County will have its first social day respite center—Among Friends--for individuals over 60 with memory loss or physical frailties and those with early onset dementia. The center will offer services on Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Additional days will be added as the program develops.

Among Friends is open to all residents of Pierce County. It is located at the First Congregational United Church of Christ at 110 North 3rd Street, River Falls. The center will provide a safe, supportive, and stimulating atmosphere for participants and free time for caregivers to refresh and renew themselves in activities important to them.

If you are interested in volunteering, we are offering four volunteer training sessions at 110 N. 3rd Street in River Falls: August 29 at 2-4 p.m. or 5-7 p.m.; September 13 at 2-4 p.m. or 5-7 p.m. We will need volunteers to help with participants’ daily activities, artists, musicians, dancers, drivers, bakers, and anyone with a skill or talent to bring to the program.
