The farm or home (in whole or part) must have been in continuous family ownership. Title of the Century or Sesquicentennial property today must reside in a blood relative of the original owner, or a legally adopted child of a descendant. ELLSWORTH WI -- Pierce County Public Health wants county residents to know about the health risks from radon. Each year about half of the homes tested in Pierce County had elevated radon levels.

Pierce and St. Croix counties are labeled Zone 1 for radon, which means the areas have a high likelihood of raised radon levels. Radon is an odorless, colorless gas that comes from the natural breakdown of Uranium.  Radon can enter homes through the basement or foundation and is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Radon can be a problem in all types of homes:  old, new, drafty, insulated, houses with basements and without basements.

  • ST. PAUL, MN – It can’t be wrapped or placed under a tree, but the perfect gift can help save patient lives this holiday season. The American Red Cross urges eligible donors to give the lifesaving gift of a blood donation in December, a time when donations decline but the needs of patients remain steady.

Donors of all blood types are needed this holiday season to help ensure a sufficient supply for hospital patients. To encourage donations, all those who come to donate Dec. 22, 2016, through Jan. 8, 2017, will receive a long-sleeved Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last.

  • The Spring Valley Health and Rehab Center invites everyone to take part in the Circle of Love.

It is a way to remember friends, family and loved ones this Holiday Season. Wreaths adorned with red, green and white lights will be displayed on the SVHRC building.
