ELMWOOD, WI -- The Friends of the Elmwood Library will sponsor the second annual “Spring and Garden Market” on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Last year’s market was a successful fundraiser for the Friends, who used the funds to support the library’s Summer Reading Program.
This year’s event will include great food, music and vendors with crafts and garden related products including local honey, maple syrup and plants started by Elmwood High School students. Volunteers from the St. Croix Valley Master Gardeners program will also be on hand to answer questions.
Vendor applications are available at the library, located at 111 N. Main Street, Elmwood. The Friends are looking for crafts, repurposed items, garden and edible products and commercial vendors to provide a market environment at the event. Vendors who sign up by April 15, 2015, will receive a discount on their space rent.
A student art show with the theme “Spring” will also take place during the market. Elmwood area students are encouraged to drop off artwork in any medium at the library by 6 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. A cash prize will be awarded to the winning entry, chosen by those attending the market.
Silent auction items include baskets of seeds and garden tools, as well as two turned wood bowls by local woodworker Dan Flory.
The event will take place at the Village of Elmwood Auditorium, located at 323 West Winter Avenue.
