  • EAU CLAIRE, WI -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is providing a weekly update on construction projects in the northwest region, which includes the counties of Dunn, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix.

    Construction related traffic impacts are subject to change and dependent on favorable weather patterns.

These office hours allow constituents to meet with the senator’s staff to request assistance with a federal agency or regarding other federal matters.

  • ST. PAUL, MN – It can’t be wrapped or placed under a tree, but the perfect gift can help save patient lives this holiday season. The American Red Cross urges eligible donors to give the lifesaving gift of a blood donation in December, a time when donations decline but the needs of patients remain steady. 

    Donors of all blood types are needed this holiday season to help ensure a sufficient supply for hospital patients. To encourage donations, all those who come to donate Dec. 22, 2016, through Jan. 8, 2017, will receive a long-sleeved Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last.

  • Elmwood Schools to receive $16,685 for libraries

    WISCONSIN DELLS, WI – Elmwood Schools to receive $$16,685 for libraries. Wisconsin’s K-12 public school libraries will receive $37.7 million, thanks to record earnings from Common School Fund investments, the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands (BCPL) announced today.

    The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 106 Wilson, Elmwood, Wisconsin.

  • ST. PAUL, MN — The American Red Cross (ARC) encourages eligible blood donors to donate blood this spring to ensure a sufficient supply for patients at approximately 2,600 hospitals across the country.

    Donated blood is perishable and must constantly be replenished to keep up with hospital patient need. Red blood cells are the blood component most frequently transfused by hospitals and must be used within 42 days of donation.

  • A benefit for 'Little Bob'

    ELMWOOD, WI – Join the effort to show your support for Little Bob Anderson.  Bob was diagnosed with nephrotic renal disease at the age of 5 and then received a kidney transplant in 1980. After 36 years he is in "rejection stage" and waiting for a new one. Bob performs CAPD dialysis at home nightly while he waits for a kidney. Several surgeries to remove skin cancer have also been performed over the past year.

  • EAU CLAIRE, WI -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is planning a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements to WIS 128 from Elmwood to WIS 29 in Pierce and St. Croix Counties. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2105 from 6-7:30 p.m., in the village of Elmwood at the Village Auditorium, 323 West Winter Avenue.

  • ST. PAUL, MN – The American Red Cross and Sport Clips Haircuts are teaming up to offer a free haircut coupon to those who come out to donate blood or platelets during September.

    “We are pleased to partner with Sport Clips Haircuts in September nationwide, and through their generosity, offer a coupon for a free haircut to thank our amazing volunteer blood donors for their lifesaving gift to help patients in need,” said Donna M.     ELMWOOD, WI - On Saturday, June 6, 2015 the Elmwood High School Clay Target League returned to the State High School Clay Target League Tournament held south of Wisconsin Rapids.

  • ELMWOOD, WI -- Now that spring is here, it’s time to spruce up the yard and create an inviting, relaxing outdoor living space for the upcoming summer.  Part of creating that wonderful outdoor space is starting or rejuvenating colorful flowerbeds.

    While all flowers have beauty, how you combine them makes a huge difference.  UW-Extension and Elmwood Schools Community Education is offering a class that will cover the basics of design and provide you with the skills needed to create the garden effect you desire, through use of focal points, lines, and plant combinations. Plant textures, shapes, colors and seasonal interests will be discussed, as will flower garden location and size.  Participants will learn how to best combine their favorite garden flowers to have the most impact.

  • ELMWOOD, WI -- The Friends of the Elmwood Library will sponsor the second annual “Spring and Garden Market” on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Last year’s market was a successful fundraiser for the Friends, who used the funds to support the library’s Summer Reading Program.

    This year’s event will include great food, music and vendors with crafts and garden related products including local honey, maple syrup and plants started by Elmwood High School students. Volunteers from the St. Croix Valley Master Gardeners program will also be on hand to answer questions.
