BALDWIN, WI – Liquor Haus owners Pat and Donna Hayes had already been talking about doing a wine tasting when they were approached by area businessman Mark Tyler with an idea for a Valentine’s event to benefit Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley.
“He wanted to have a couple’s event with people dressing snappy and having a good time,” Pat recalled. That was 10 years ago, and the Liquor Haus Wine Tasting has been an annual outing for many ever since.
In recent years, the event has raised more than $7,000 in support of Family Resource Center programs for local families. This year, Donna has said she hopes to raise $10,000 for the 10th annual event. To help boost fundraising, the Liquor Haus will be holding a raffle for a “Year of Wine” as part of the event, where the winner will receive a free bottle monthly for one year.
Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to strengthen children, families, and communities by offering education, resources, and support. Parent educators provide child development information and support to families through group classes and home visits. All programs and services are free and available to any family with children ages prenatal to school entry in Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix counties.
The 10th annual Liquor Haus Wine Tasting will be held on Thursday, February 9 from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Historic Woodside Place, 2053 County Rd N. Samplings of 30 wines will be offered, plus hors d’oeuvres provided by the Phoenix Restaurant. All proceeds will support Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley programs for local families.
Reserve your tickets ($50 per person) by contacting Donna at (715) 684-2578 or stopping in at the Liquor Haus, located on Hwy 63 in Baldwin.
