St Croix Valley Master Gardeners (SCVMG) will hear about biological insect control for home gardens at the Thursday, May 24, 2018 meeting. She will outline how commercial growers and garden centers are using beneficial insects to control common insect pests and shares gardening practices and insect and disease control products that gardeners can utilize to unlock the potential of biological insect control in home lawns and gardens. Doering has been a horticultural professional for nearly 30 years. She’s worked in a variety of horticultural roles from sales and assortment management to greenhouse production over the years and currently works for Koppert Biological Systems, a supplier of bumblebees for fruit/vegetable pollination and beneficial insects for non-chemical insect control in greenhouse plant production. The SCVMG meeting will be at First Covenant Church, 1374 Main St, River Falls starting at 6:45 pm with the speaker at 7:15 pm. The public is invited.
